Sometimes it’s hard to pick up the phone
It’s only natural if you’re less focused on speaking up for democracy and social justice lately. We all feel it to different degrees.
It’s been a rough road, so please remember to go easy on you.
Where does this apathy come from?
It could be a lot of things…
- The fatigue of four years swamped by daily chaos
- A difficult year of distance, struggle, and loss
- The uphill effort of resisting the triple threat of systemic racism, sexism, and classism
- Finally feeling hopeful with spring arriving and the promise of vaccinations
- The natural turning of attention to loved ones, small safe gatherings, even adventures
Dear readers, our mission at Americans of Conscience is to provide you with tools that encourage action.
We anticipated burnout would grow after the election
We’re proud to unveil our redesigned and easier-to-use Americans of Conscience Checklist!
At the link below, you’ll find a shorter, clearer Checklist. We’ve grouped bills together for quick calls to your senators. We’ve kept all the features you love: clear scripts, good news, and thank-you postcards.
If you are feeling burned out
Do some self care first. Seriously. Soak your soul in a moment of sunlight. Sink into a hug with a pet or safe person. Water your parched self.
Then, open the newly streamlined AoC Checklist where you can speak up for our neighbors and democracy with ease.
2022 midterms, here we come!
Together, we’ve got this.
Warmly,
Jen Hofmann, AoCC Founder and Editor
