This Week’s Actions

Action 1: Oppose the anti-voter, anti-voting “SAVE America” Act.

Thank you to the 284 Americans of Conscience who completed this action!

This discriminatory, anti-voting bill has already passed in the House. Call your Senators today to oppose it loudly.

Contact: Your two senators (call, write, or email).

Script: Hello, I’m ______ from [ZIP], asking you to oppose the SAVE America Act (H.R. 7296), which passed the House on Feb. 11. This bill would prevent millions of married women who have changed their names from registering and voting. It would affect the roughly 170 million Americans without a passport and the 9% of the population that moved in the last year. It would allow recurring purges of voter rolls, end mail voting nationwide, and burden voters to prove their citizenship when registering and show photo ID when voting. I am asking you to block this bill using procedural tools like the filibuster and to vote “NO” if this harmful voter suppression bill comes up for a vote. Thank you.

Action 2: Oppose expanding ICE mass-detention warehouses.

Thank you to the 69 Americans of Conscience who completed this action!

DHS and ICE are expanding their detention capacity with large warehouses and industrial spaces. In many cases, local and state government officials learn about ICE’s plans only after ICE acquires these spaces. Designed to hold products, not people, these sites promote inhumane conditions that increase the likelihood of further abuse and death. At least 32 people died in ICE custody in 2025. Communities are successfully blocking ICE expansion with local resolutions opposing ICE centers, public comments at zoning hearings, demands for environmental reviews, and more.

Act locally: Use Detention Watch Network’s warehouse toolkit to oppose ICE expansion in your community.

Action 3: Oppose ICE’s deceptive “self-deportation” flyers.

Thank you to the 184 Americans of Conscience who completed this action!

Contact: Your two senators and one House representative (call, write, or email).

Script: Hello, I’m ______ from [ZIP] and I oppose the administration’s disregard for due process in distributing deceptive flyers urging people to “self-deport.” They are often distributed with official immigration court communications, giving them the appearance of credibility. They falsely state that self-deporting is safe and omit serious legal consequences, including bans on reentry. I urge you to demand that the administration immediately halt the distribution of these flyers and publicly denounce these flyers for their deception.

Action 4: Be sure you’re ready for the primary election.

Thank you to the 170 Americans of Conscience who completed this action!

With your state’s primary election coming up, now’s the time to ensure you and your neighbors are ready to vote!

Action 5: End racist bans on voting.

Thank you to the 66 Americans of Conscience who completed this action!

If you live in CA, CO, CT, FL, GA, KY, MD, MA, MN, NE, NM, NY, OR, PA, TN, TX, VA, or WA, contact your state legislators (look up). Your state’s fact sheet explains how many citizens in your state are disenfranchised.

Script: Hello, I’m ______ from [ZIP], calling to ask you to restore voting rights to citizens with a criminal conviction. Banning these citizens from voting is a deliberately racist voter-suppression tactic, and public safety increases when these rights are restored. Please introduce and support legislation to restore these rights. Thank you.

If you live elsewhere, donate to The Sentencing Project to fund their work nationwide.

Action 6: Ban congressional insider trading.

Thank you to the 114 Americans of Conscience who completed this action!

Contact: Your two senators and one House representative (call, write, or email).

Script: Hello, I’m ______ from [ZIP], urging you to co-sponsor and pass legislation banning stock ownership by members of Congress. Regardless of political affiliation, 86% of Americans support such a ban, and both the HONEST (Halting Ownership and Non-Ethical Stock Transactions) Act (S. 1498) and the Restore Trust in Congress Act (H.R. 5106 /S. 3649) have strong bipartisan support. Please pass this legislation and put an end to Congress profiting from privileged information. Thank you.

Action 7: Protect the rights of transgender athletes.

Thank you to the 82 Americans of Conscience who completed this action!

Contact: Your one House representative (call, write, or email).

Script: Hello, I’m ______ from [ZIP] and I’m concerned about the impact of new legislation on already-marginalized transgender and intersex people. The Protection of Women in Olympic and Amateur Sports Act of 2026 (H.R. 1028) would deny elite athletes participation in their chosen sport, bar certain youth from affiliated programs, and perpetuate stereotypes that lead to harassment. Please uphold the rights of all athletes by defeating passage of this discriminatory law.

Action 8: Practice essential democracy skills.

Thank you to the 14 Americans of Conscience who completed this action!

Restoring our democracy has a better chance when we practice civil debate, active listening, and mutual respect. With better skills we can reunite our nation, one conversation at a time.
